This hotel is one of the most beautiful I have stayed in. My partner and I would definitely revisit. The staff were all extremely friendly and accommodating. The owner was very lovely, and his story including a brief history of the hotel was published in a magazine which we read about over breakfast.
We were upgraded to a beautiful room without knowing it until we walked into the room The hotel is designed in a period style down to the very last details, and staying in the room was like being transported to another era.

The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms large and beautifully designed. They have an antique appearance, but a modern way of functioning. The addition of a tennis court was really nice, and although we didnt get a chance to play ourselves, we watched others playing from our balcony and enjoyed the spectacle.
The park next to the villa provides a serene and blissful setting, and brings more nature into the surrounding town. The way to the Rhine Falls is a walkable distance from the hotel along a lovely river path. We decided to dine in at the restaurant for dinner and were not disappointed.
The prices were very reasonable for the portions, quality, and taste of the food. We each received a large platter with the main course and two sides--very generous portions. The fish was very fresh and delicious, and the staff were able to accommodate my dairy allergy gladly something I am never able to encounter in Germany without a fuss , and used fragrant oils to cook my meal in instead of butter. We also ordered a white wine of the staff's recommendation to pair it with, and a most delicious dairy free dessert afterward.
Breakfast at the hotel was also superb and included with our room. They provided fresh salmon, cheese, meats, delicious ripe fruits, and a large bread basket.

Situé au milieu d'un jardin, cet hôtel à la gestion familiale se trouve à 5 minutes à pied de la gare et du centre-ville de Schaffhouse. Nous vous avons envoyé un e-mail pour vous permettre de terminer votre inscription. L'hôtel est super, la chambre était vraiment magnifique. Le petit déjeuner excellent. Le personnel très sympathique. Un sans-faute pour l'hôtel. Par contre, le restaurant était très discutable: nous n'avons pas été franchement bien accueillis, n'ayant pas réservé nous arrivions entre 20 et 21h et ne savions pas si la cuisine serait ouverte.
La procédure pour le service est à revoir: une personne prend la commande, une deuxième s'occupe des boissons, une troisième amène les plats… quand ils peuvent: le vin blanc n'était plus froid et les poissons beaucoup trop cuits sans doute en attente sous une lampe pour rester chauds…. Très dommage pour le standing de l'établissement. A part les chutes du Rhin, endroit triste et pas très vivant.
